This installation art project refashions the famous Pablo Picasso’s style of cubism into its interactive video manipulation. Offering potraiture in pixels, this installation invites visitors to bring home a copy of their potrait in the style of cubism.

Pablo Picasso revolutionized and created the Cubism style. Cubism is defined as the fragmenting of 3D forms into flat areas of patterns and colors. In this style of artworks, objects are analyzed, broken up and then reassembled again into abstract form of art. Picasso let the art world know and see that several points of view of an object could be viewed at one time.

Inspired by Mozart’s composition, this installation is a giant sound mixer that combines the sampling technology with motion sensing equipment to explore the relationship between movement and sounds.

It has become increasingly frequent for musician to produce their music by sampling and rearranging sounds, and sometimes entire pieces. This sampled music can itself be variously sampled, mixed and transformed by other musicians in an endless cycle. This installation permits users to alter a few aspects of a Mozart’s remixed masterpiece. Visuals enhances this experience in a comical manner.

Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December1791) was a prolific and influential composer of Classical era. He composed over six hundred works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, piano, operatic and choral music and he is among enduringly popular of classical composers. This Mozart’s Remix is to remediate an existing Artist’s Masterpiece.

This project remediated Jackson Pollock¡¯s action painting by replacing the action with voice, the canvas with screen and the pigments with pixels, resulting a visualization of sound and also sound of visualization.

Jackson Pollock is the artist who best illustrates the techniques of action painting. The bold colors, movement and individuality of Jackson Pollock paintings are recognizable worldwide. His technique of ¡°dripping¡± paint onto a canvas created a number of famous works that earned him considerable acclaim. Pollock¡¯s paintbrush would dance above the canvas and express his emotions and feelings without having to touch the canvas. Similarly, this installation is intended to let visitor to freely express oneself with voice, thus achieving a immediate means of creating an art work in the style of abstract expressionism.

Pollock himself was uninterested in labels or definitions; he simply wanted to authentically and freely express his emotions. When asked about technique he replied, ¡°It doesn¡¯t make much difference how the paint is put on as long as something has been said. Technique is just a means of arriving at a statement.

This project is remediating Henri Matisse masterpiece “Interior with Phonograph” into actual/real set installation art project.

Interior With Phonograph

The audience touches the set and the feedbacks of the interactivity are the sounds and visual that will be projected around the area using projector and surround sound speaker. Henri Matisse was a French artist, known for his use of color and his fluid, brilliant and original draughtsmanship. “Interior with Phonograph” is considered by many as a masterpiece. Given a paint set while recovering from an illness, Matisse described his discovery of art as “a kind of paradise”. Although he was initially labeled as a Fauve (wild beast), by the 1920s, he was increasingly hailed as an upholder of the classical tradition in French painting. Our main idea was to introduce a different way of experiencing a masterpiece.

Henri Matisse was one of the most important painters of the twentieth century.  He wanted his artwork to give people pleasure, and be soothing – kind of like a comfortable armchair you can rest in after a hard day’s work.  Some of his greatest works do just what he wanted; by perfectly balancing simple shapes and beautiful colors, his paintings seem to make you feel good all over.

The Masterpiece

air on g string by bach

This installation is intended to reproduce/ recompose Johann Sebastian Bach’s Air on a G String. Regarded as perhaps the greatest composer of all time, Bach was known during his lifetime primarily as an outstanding organ player and technician who drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Music which is melodious yet so constructed as to reflect the “perfect order” of the universe: that is the essence of the Baroque.

What is Sequencer | Effects

Using a combination of music sequencing, fudicial tracking and audio processing, this installation allows gallery visitor to respond to it through a tangible interface involving touch and motion.  This installation invites visitor to mix, arrange, and transform the sound material as an original work into the stream of digital music. This operation resembles a conductor conducting in an orchestra.
